Like all Roomba models like all Roomba models, the Combo J7+ is a pro in removing dirt and debris. Its smart navigation is bolstered by iRobot OS technology and PrecisionVision which allows the robot to identify the common objects that it encounters, such as pet waste or cords--and stay clear of them completely. The iRobot Combo j7+ can even get around furniture, such as high chairs with backs, which could trap the robot beneath them.

When the iRobot Combo j7+ realizes that it's in a place that needs to be cleaned using water, a small robot arm rises and swivels a mopping pad underneath it. This is a very intuitive system, and it worked great during my testing. However, I found that it was not able to completely wipe away liquids that are water-based, such as juice or wine. The mopping pad is washable and reusable.

The iRobot Combo's front camera is also useful. It can detect dangers, such as power cables and pet waste and avoid them to ensure a thorough clean. This feature is superior to the cameras on most other robot vacuums, which frequently get caught up in things like rug tassels. It is worth noting, however, that the iRobot Combo ju7+'s front camera is prone to blind spots, and can miss certain objects.

The iRobot Combo ju7+ is expensive, however it performs well enough to justify the cost. It's a highly rated product from customers who appreciate its clever features. The S7 Max Ultra can be quickly set up: just plug it in, connect it to your smartphone via Wi Fi and then begin cleaning. Once you've completed this, you can modify its settings in the app, including setting no-go zones and scheduling cleanings.

Another benefit is its impressive obstacle avoidance system. During testing, it only slowed down twice in tight spaces, which is significantly better than the S6 MaxV's three attempts and the X1 Omni's four tries. The app allows you to mark an object as a temporary obstruction and the S7 Max Ultra will ignore it in future cleanings.

The Narwal Freo is one of the few robots that integrates vacuuming and mops in its design. It's among the most affordable robots we've reviewed. The Freo's impressive cleaning performance and wide array of customization options make it a solid choice for any home that needs a combination cleaner. The absence of advanced obstacle-avoidance technology and a polished mobile app dampened our enthusiasm for this model.

The first thing to do is scan your space. This will help the Freo identify the area it will cleanse. The process takes around one minute. Once the Freo knows where everything is, it can navigate faster in subsequent cleanings.

Freo can also register a room to be used for mopping or dry vacuuming. This allows it to be more efficient in switching between these two tasks. It is also intelligent enough to detect when the mop pads need to replaced and return to the dock to replenish them before returning to clean surfaces.

The Freo's ability to vacuum and mop carpets is an important strength. The two mops pads on the Freo are automatically raised when the Freo comes into contact with carpet and allows it to utilize less power and energy while still removing debris. It also thoroughly sucks up sand and oatmeal spills without requiring multiple vac/mop passes.

The Freo's tilted side-brush is a tribute to street sweepers and is great at attracting and cleaning up dirt particles.
