The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo

It has a difficult time with plush or high-pile carpet, but iRobot says it will get better with future models.

The S9+ features a new design from iRobot, which focuses on enhancing corner and edge cleaning. It's the first Roomba to adopt a flat-fronted D-shaped design, which it hopes will allow it to fit into furniture and walls. It's a significant improvement over hockey puck-shaped robovacs which are common however we found it to be just marginally superior to circular models.

iRobot also claims that the S9+ has a superior filtering system that stops microscopic dust particles and allergens from recirculating in your home. It's a nice premise, however, we're not convinced it's enough to justify the price tag.

Its smart navigation system employs sensors that remember your home's layout and vSLAM technology to map the interior. It then cleans your entire house efficiently by avoiding obstacles like stairs and other obstacles. The iRobot Home App allows you to schedule cleaning times and create virtual boundary markers to ensure that the robot is aware of which areas need extra attention.

2. Roborock Q Revo

Roborock Q Revo is a robotic that combines mopping and vacuuming. Its vacuum settings are just as effective as those found on higher-end models. The mopping system is superior as its spinning pads clean your floors better than the vibrating pads.

The only drawback is the absence of a second brush for more thorough cleaning. However, that's not a major issue if you want to own one of the top robots on the market. The dust tank on the robo-vac is larger than many of its competitors. Filling it takes just two or three cycles even when you've got the most dirt.

For the mopping device, I was impressed by its ability to scrub hard-to-clean dirt from my floors. The two lowest mopping settings, which are less powerful than the high-powered settings, produce low noise, which means you can work or even watch television without being distracted. If it comes into contact with the wall or a piece of furniture it gently smacks into it and moves on.

The Q Revo is unique in that it runs almost completely on its own, with no user involvement. The dock of the robo-vac has multiple functions and automatically transfers garbage into a bin hidden. It also cleans and dries the clean water tank. The app will only alert you if something is wrong like a low clean water tank or a canceled vacuuming session due to an empty bin.

You can also design and merge rooms to modify the way that Q Revo will treat your home. This feature is beneficial for those who have different flooring in different areas of your home or if you need to regularly clear out clutter such as toys, clothes and books. The robot vacuum was also one of the top performers in my tests, picking up debris on both carpets as well as hardwood floors on the first attempt. It can even vacuum up wet spills. I recommend drying the area with a towel prior to sending it into.

3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni is a premium robot mop and vacuum combo with all the features you could wish for. It comes with the ability to rotate mops and a powerful vacuum that can clean carpets and hard floors. It's similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+. It also comes with a self-cleaning base station that automatically cleans and empty the mop pads, keeping them germ-free and ready for use again. It also comes with a sensor that can detect obstacles better which allows it to avoid falling onto furniture and other objects.

The biggest improvement over the ECOVACS Deebot X1 is that it is sleeker and more modern design due to Danish firm Jacob Jensen Design (best known for Bang & Olufsen products). Although it's still quite large--it's more than two feet in height and depth and weighs nearly four pounds--the Roborock: Advanced Robot Vacuums for Effortless Floor Cleaning and its base are smaller than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot J7.

This version is also more efficient than the X1 one, because it has faster battery charging and can handle a complete cleaning of about 1,500 square feet with just one charge. It also has a larger and more robust dust bin that can hold more debris. This makes it easier to empty.

Finally it is worth noting that the X2 Omni has a more intuitive app as well as a voice assistant that works offline, which means you can manage it even when not home. It also has an intelligent routing feature that lets it clean specific areas or rooms of your home instead of following a set path.
