If you're on a tight budget and don't need a stroller that can double as car seat carriers the Babyzen Yoyo is a good option. It has a flip-flop friendly one-step footbrake.

It's easy to push and it is solid when navigating kerbs and woodland paths. It's also a breeze to fold.

1. Babyzen YOYO2

The Babyzen YOYO2 has earned itself a reputation as the most stroller that is lightweight, suitable for urban dwellers as well as jet-setters. This is due to its extremely nimble handling and fold that fits into an aeroplane's overhead luggage. This latest version boasts independent suspension on all four wheels, made from Hytrel elastomer to 'perfectly navigate all types of surface and terrain'.

The curved fabric bassinet, base YOYO2 and 6months of colour pack are combined to create a stylish pushchair with a delicate elegant design. The frame's weight is less than a kilogram and is so light you can lift it out of the box with just one hand.

The hood, as an example, snaps on the YOYO2 in a reassuring way. It is machine washable at 30deg which helps avoid stains caused by smushed carrot puffs and rice cakes. It can be used as a pram from birth with the Newborn Pack or bassinet, or converted into a stroller after 6 months old by clicking on the YOYO Connect additional chassis.

2. Evenflo Pivot Xplore

The Evenflo Pivot Xplore is a fantastic choice for parents who are looking for a versatile stroller wagon. The Evenflo Pivot can be transformed from a stroller to a wagon by simply flipping the handle. Parents can then choose which mode is best for their journey. The wagon can accommodate two or more children from 6 months to 5 years, and it comes with a spacious storage basket that can accommodate everything you require on the go.

The Xplore has dual canopies which are able to rotate from front to back, ensuring adequate sun protection for the entire family. It has a smaller footprint than other wagons. This isn't suitable for long journeys or naps.

The frame of the Xplore wagon is solid and sturdy, however, it isn't able to bend as much as some other wagons that we tested. It is also more difficult to fold than many of the other models and it doesn't lock tightly when folded. It is easy to maneuver however, and is able to fit through narrow 28 inches doors.

3. Delta Children LX Side-by-Side

This basic double stroller from Delta Children is an excellent option for parents who want an affordable second stroller for their travels. It scored well in our Strollers & Multiples Test for weight and fold dimensions, which means it's lightweight, compact when folded, and easy to lift and store in a trunk for your car. It also comes with a multi-position reclining seat and a parent cup holder. Other key features include two large hanging storage bags and 360-degree front wheels that are shock-absorbing.

It performed better in our push and turn test than many of the strollers we tested, but was nonetheless difficult to maneuver on uneven ground or through narrow doors. The sunshades are among the most compact we tested, with only direct overhead coverage, and no peekaboo windows. The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 and Zoe Twin+ have much larger canopies.

It took us under three minutes to put together the Delta with a manual. The parts are all non-required and required tools. It's missing some features that we consider essential for double strollers. These include an extra-large basket, reclining seats and adjustable leg rests.

4. Maxi-Cosi Zelia 2-in-1

The Zelia is Maxi-Cosi’s newest pushchair, and is advertised as an urban travel system. It is suitable from birth to around 3.5-years-old. The seat and carrycot can be easily converted in only a few clicks. It is compatible with Maxi Cosi capsule car seats. It comes with a light Mico 30 infant seat, a stay-in car-base and a reversible baby carriage.

It's really easy to manoeuvre and the one-hand recline of the seat as well as the massive shopping basket make it easy for parents to get their child in and out quickly. Although it is narrow, the cheap single pushchair handled the everyday bumps well and slid through doors without fuss.

The front wheels can be locked in an forward position or allow them to rotate which can be helpful when crossing rough terrain. When we walked along the stony path we let them swivel and it performed well, though it did appear slightly bumpier than other models in our test.

5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2

Baby Jogger is best lightweight single stroller known for its 3-wheeled all-terrain jogging strollers. However, they also manufacture a vast range of 4-wheeler pushchairs. City Tour 2 is their most well-known model. It folds easily and fits in the trunk of a car even with the carrycot attached.

It weighs more than other strollers we've tested, but because it has rubber composite wheels it feels sturdy and well-made. It is able to maneuver effortlessly across all kinds of terrain, and it's easy to move, even when loaded with two children and shopping bags.

Both the seat and carrycot have hoods that can be removed to reveal a UV50and sun canopy extensions. They are strong and waterproof, unlike other prams hoods which can be blown back onto toddlers' faces.

It's not a lot of storage space, but it comes with an ample basket that is deep enough to hold a changing bag or plenty of groceries. You can also pair it with a Baby Jogger car seat for babies who weigh 20 pounds or less (car seat and adapters are sold separately). The City Tour 2 is a excellent choice if you wish to take a stroller with you on the go.

6. Nuna Mixx Next

When the Nuna Mixx first appeared on the scene it stole the hearts of parents everywhere. It's an aluminum-framed stroller that can be used from infant's earliest days through. It is a standout model with many unique features, such as the capacity of the seat to flip between the parent and the world, a large UPF50+ canopy with a flip-out eyeshade, and an adjustable handlebar.

The chassis is equipped with a suspension system built-in which reduces the impact of bumpy terrain. The wheels are constructed of tough foam and reduce punctures. Our test driver found it easy to push and was able to manoeuvre it through tight streets with ease.

It folds automatically and locks in just four steps. It can also be folded and raised for easier transport down the stairs, or in the boot of the car. The travel system is included with the option to add an additional car seat or carrycot using the adaptors included. The brakes come with one action and are colour coded. They also are compatible with flip-flops.

7. Babyzen Duet

This buggy single pushchair that is budget-friendly is surprisingly easy to handle and has excellent dual suspension, a one-hand fold and a practical carry strap. It's also light and durable. The seat can be reclined in many positions and comes with a built-in double-breathable mattress that can be used from birth.

The canopy/seat comes with two extra-large fixed or flip out sun visors and both are UPF50+. However the toggle closure isn't perfect - it's not as silent as Velcro and can wake sleepy babies.

The Duet is a side-byside stroller and can be set up to accommodate twins or siblings (up to 22kg max per seat). It can be used with two infant car seat and some carrycots. In twin mode, the seats can be facing each other or turn around and face the parents, theoretically decreasing sibling disputes over who sits with mom and dad. It comes with a large bottle holder, a gear tray as well as snack trays and an adjustable mat. It also has an automatic frame lock and a superior compact fold.

8. Baby Jogger Urban Glide 2

The Urban Glide 2 doesn't come with adapters for most infant car seats and bassinets however, you can use them from the very first day using adapters that work with brands like BOB, Graco Combi Evenflo Britax UPPAbaby. It folds up compactly and takes about 5-10 minutes to assemble without tools. The manual is easy to read and contains a variety of languages.
