It also provides exceptional performance. The robot vacuum has an enormous bin that can store one month's worth of dirt and the base can be set to automatically empty it at the end of each cleaning run for longer-term storage. The ION XL is one of the best robot vacuums on the market, suitable for carpets and hard floors. It can also sweep and mop your floor. You can control the robot using an app or voice commands. You can also design an outline of your home on demand. The robot can also navigate around furniture and move through carpeted and stairs with ease.

I tried the ION XL using our standard debris test in a family space and kitchen with hardwood flooring and area rug. It was a great job vacuuming and clearing debris, pet hair, and even some of the more stubborn carpet crumbs. It also did a great job in getting around my barstools and didn't hit them like the iRobot j7+ did in this test. The only downside to the ION XL is that it can't detect cords, shoes or toys in its path. You will need to clean your home prior to when you run this robotic vacuum to avoid them.

The ION XL isn't as smart as the iRobot j7+, but it's an option if you don't wish to spend more than $500 for an automated cleaner. It's better than the Introducing eufy RoboVac LR30: Hybrid+ Auto Vacuum RoboVac 11S, in many ways. It's more easy to maintain and has lower recurring costs. It's also better at vacuuming bare flooring and removing pet fur, but isn't as effective on carpets with a low or higher-pile carpet.

It is also not as well-built as the Roborock S8, but it is a great option. The ION XL is a powerful machine that has a large capacity bin. It is controlled via an app or a voice command, and is simple to maintain. It's also a good price.
