It will return to its dock after the cleaning cycle. It's a great option for homes with hard floors and can also be used to clean rugs or tiles with multiple surfaces.

The Combo J7+, as all Roomba models, is great at taking in dirt. PrecisionVision and iRobot OS help the robot to navigate intelligently. It can avoid common objects, like cords and pet messes. The iRobot Combo j7+ is able to avoid furniture, like chairs that are tall and have backs that can trap the robot underneath them.

When the iRobot Combo j7+ realizes that it's in a place that needs to be cleaned with water, a small Self-Emptying Robot Vacuum arm is raised and swings a small mopping pad underneath it. It was a very intuitive system that worked well during my testing. It was unable to get rid of water-based liquids such like juice or wine. The mopping pad is washed and reused.

The camera on the front of the iRobot Combo is also very useful. It can detect hazards such as power cords or pet waste, and stay clear of them to ensure thorough cleaning. This feature is more effective than the cameras on most other robot vacuums, which often get caught up on things like rug tassels. The iRobot Combo ju7+ front camera has blind spots that can cause it to miss certain objects.

The iRobot Combo ju7+ may be costly but its performance is high enough to justify the price. It's a highly rated product from its customers, who love its clever features. It's worth looking at alternatives, like the Ecovacs Deebot X1 Omni. It's less expensive than the iRobot Combo h7+ and can heed voice commands without the requirement for third-party integration as well as mop and vacuum with one swipe. Plus, it has a huge water tank, and its mopping pads are self-cleaning.

Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision

The Scout RX3 Home Vision robot vacuum and mop is a fully-featured robot vacuum that comes with all the features you'd expect of a high-end brand. You can remotely monitor the home through its camera and you can even view it in action via the app. (Although the app doesn't provide the same high-resolution images as the camera).

The mops are great to clean tile carpets, wood and rugs as well as taking care of pet hair, and dirt. They feature an effective obstacle avoidance system that does not move small, light objects like socks or toys around the floor. It's the best mopping robotic vacuum self emptying we've evaluated. It comes with a magnetic strip that can be used to block off areas the robot won't be able to reach, for example rooms with a lot of cables.

Unfortunately, the robot is lacking in other aspects that are expected of an item of this kind. While the mops do a fantastic job, their maximum running time is 60 minutes and is less than we'd like to see from an expensive product. It doesn't even vacuum after a mopping session or automatically empty its charging station.

But it's an excellent choice for those with large homes because the cleaning and mapping process are fast and efficient. The app is easy to use, and you can set schedules. If you don't have a strong WI-FI connection, you'll be able to still control it using the remote, or with voice integrations with Alexa.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision is expensive however it comes with a lot of smart functions that make up for the price. The live monitoring of your home is a great feature, and it looks pretty cool too. It's an excellent option for those with pets, young children, or anyone who wants to monitor their home even when they're away. Most people who own a robot mop and vacuum are amazed by the difference their floors can make after using them frequently.

Roborock S7 Max Ultra

Roborock's latest robot vacuum and mop combo self empty model, the S7 Max Ultra ($1299 at Amazon), is a fantastic upgrade over the previous S6 and S7 models. It includes a myriad of beneficial features, including more aggressive mopping and a higher-powered suction (up to 5,100Pa compared to earlier models with 2,400Pa). It also features a precise lidar navigation system that operates in 3D like radar. It can see things like baseboards, chair legs and furniture legs, so it can expertly maneuver around them. It is able to create custom cleaning routines you can start by pressing for example, an "After Meals mode" that systematically vacuums and scrubs the kitchen floors.

This robot also comes with one unique feature that is not available on most other robots: VibraRise, which raises the mopping plates when it detects carpeting, so it doesn't let area rugs get wet, making mopping more efficient. It also features a deep-cleaning mode that vacuums and mops carpets in one pass, removing more dust and dirt than spinning mops can. You can also make use of the app to create a schedule for weekly cleaning or clean on the go.

While the S7 Max Ultra does a great job at its intended tasks, it's not without drawbacks. The most significant is the high cost. It's the most expensive robot vacuum and mop combination I've ever reviewed. The other issues are less specific to this model and more representative of the robotic vacuums in general: it doesn't handle heavy spills or sticky messes very well.

The S7 Max Ultra is easy to set up: simply connect it to the internet and sync it to your phone via Wi-Fi, and begin a cleaning session. Once you've done this you can modify the settings of the app. For instance you can set up no-go zones or schedule cleanings.

Its impressive obstacle avoidance is another major self-emptying robot vacuum benefit. During testing it only got stuck in tight spaces twice, which is better than the S6 MaxV's three attempts or the X1 Omni’s four tries. The app allows you to mark an object as a temporary obstruction, and the S7 Max Ultra will ignore it when cleaning in the future.

Narwal Freo

The Narwal Freo is a unique robot that blends mops and vacuums. It's also among the less expensive combo bots in our review. The Freo is a fantastic option for anyone in need of a combination cleaner. Its impressive cleaning performance, as as its wide range of options for customization makes it a fantastic choice. The absence of the latest obstacle-avoidance technology and a polished mobile app diminished our enthusiasm for the model.

The first step to get the Freo running is to conduct a quick scan of your area that will help it map the area it will cover while cleaning. It takes around 30 seconds to complete this process. Once the Freo has a better idea of where everything is located it will be better able to navigate in subsequent cleanings.

Another great feature is Freo's ability to register the room as mopping or dry vacuuming so that it is more efficient in switching between these two functions. It's also smart enough to know when its mop pads are dirty and will automatically return to the dock for a refill, then head back out to dry clean hard surfaces.

The Freo's ability to vacuum and mop carpets is a key strength. The two mops pads automatically raise when the Freo comes into contact with carpet. This lets it use less energy and resources while still getting rid of debris. It also gets rid of oatmeal and sand without having to make multiple passes using the mop/vac.

The Freo's unique side brushes tilted are based on street sweeper trucks and do a well in pulling in and sweeping out dirt particles. The Freo's round design and high-end finish make it a stunning device. You can interact with the robot by using an LCD touchscreen on its base station, however we prefer to control it from the smartphone app.

The app offers many options to customize Freo's behavior. This includes schedules for busy areas as well as spot cleanings. There's also an option to activate the parental lock.
