This model that is dry and wet is equipped with the latest AIVI 3D2.0 lidar system from Ecovacs, which provides enhanced mapping and obstruction-free operation. The system is equipped with dual laser LiDAR that is similar to that found in self-driving vehicles. It can scan an area up to 32 feet by the 270-degree angle. This translates to more accurate mapping, faster response time, and better cleaning accuracy.

It also has a rotating mopping mat made of chenille, which makes it much easier to scrub hard areas than traditional mops. In my tests the X2 Omni took just over a minute to clean its pad before getting to work. I also noticed that it was much more accurate than previous models that seemed to follow a gridded route around rooms. It was able to navigate my rooms with its corners and edges as well as make an "Zambani pattern" up and down the middle of the room. It returned to its OMNI Station regularly to empty the dustbin, and clean the mop with hot water prior to beginning another task of cleaning.

The X2 Omni is as simple to use and set up as other Ecovacs products. It takes just a few minutes to secure the dock into its place, plug it into and connect it to your home Wi-Fi network. After that, you can launch the app and start with your first cleaning task. The X2 Omni impressed me in my tests. It scored high in the areas of pet hair removal as well as debris removal. It also had near-perfect results for crevices and edge cleaning.

Deebot T10 has a wash tray that is built into its base, similar to other mopping robots. It makes use of the wash tray to rinse and dry the mop pads when it is using them. The X8 Hybrid appears to be a standard robotic cleaner from the top. It is a circular design with the sweeping wheels, as well as an elevated sensor area. In our test of hardwood floors and kibble the robot performed very well and picked up everything from a single grain of rice to several pieces of dog food in one go. It had some issues with rugs however, in general this vacuum cleaner is great for large rooms that have different flooring types and a mix of pets.

The A4s Pro is a bit expensive but it's an excellent buy for people who want to to leave the house without hands so that they can do other things or perform household chores. The A4s Pro has a convenient auto-cleaning mode that boosts suction to get rid of tough dirt or spills. It also comes with a battery powered ElectroWall to define the boundaries of the robot.

This budget-friendly model from a popular upstart brand is the cheapest model we've tested yet and offers an incredible value for cost. Its navigation system is based on a basic random pathing algorithm, and it's not able to map rooms. This makes it less efficient than the other models on this list. It's still able get under furniture and into corners. Its mopping mode performed well in our tests by picking up hairs and other debris.

Shark's iQ might not be as sturdy, but it is better in cleaning pet hair off all surfaces. It clears bare floors more efficiently and does a decent job on carpets with low pile, and it makes use of smart-pathing navigational technology for better maneuverability. It also lets you transfer it to a particular room, and its advanced suite of automation features include no-go zones and scheduling.
